I Need Help!

If you are in an at-risk group, are self-isolating or if you are a key worker (e.g. NHS staff), you may need extra support over the next few months.

If you are in a very high-risk group, you should be receiving a letter from the NHS soon, advising you on how to receive food and medicine for free, with food deliveries starting as early as next week (30/3/20).

If you, or somebody you know, did not receive this letter, you can still get support as an extremely vulnerable person.

Thankfully, there are lots of local charities, companies and organisations who are ready to provide help to those in need immediately.

If you need medical advice, please call 111 or call your GP. If you need urgent medical attention, call 999 immediately.

Shopping & supermarkets

With empty shelves and the risk of infection at shops, shopping is a challenge for many people right now.

That’s why we’ve published advice on shopping & supermarkets, and the following lists:

At this time, we are sadly unable to process help requests directly. A North Somerset response hub is being set up, which will be able to organise volunteers & help those in need directly.

Mental Health

The current situation is very difficult for everyone – and can cause stress & anxiety for many people. Both the big threat posed by coronavirus but also the lack of social interaction are very tough for many.

If you are worried about your mental health or the mental health of somebody around you, please consider calling one of the NHS-recommended mental health helplines.

Remember, we are all fighting through this tough situation together. If you are struggling, it’s okay to talk about it or ask for help.

Funerals

There has been a lot of news (and some misinformation) spreading about funerals for your lost friends and loved ones – whether in relation to coronavirus or not – and this painful process can sometimes be made even more difficult.

That’s why Groves Family Funeral Directors have established a 24-hour no-obligation practical support phone line to help you through the process.

You can call this support line on 01934 525042 or text on 07932 050116.
